HOME ABOUT US CONTACT

GSI Systems, Inc. is an authorized Security Central Dealer.

When an emergency at your home or business occurs, you can rest assured that, with Security Central's nationwide monitoring, the authorities have already been called and dispatched to the proper location.

An alarm sounds! Instantly your security system transmits an encoded digital signal to our emergency communication center. There, a sophisticated computer decodes the signal. Seconds after the activation, all crucial alarm information appears on an operator's screen for immediate verification and dispatch.

We also offer cellular reporting as a back-up in the event your landline fails, is cut, or for those not wishing to have a home telephone line. We also offer data network reporting solutions.

Depending on the specific capabilities of the system you have chosen, your alarm can also report the precise location of the fire or break-in for even faster, more accurate alarm response.

Our trained staff of professionals is available around the clock to give you the protection you deserve. Security Central is always only a phone call away.

What is Computerized Alarm Monitoring?

Thanks to great advances in modern security, your alarm is much more than an early warning detection system.

How does an alarm activation from your home or business reach our central station? A signal is transmitted either digitally via telephone lines or via a cellular signal to our computer network for decoding into the English language. All of this occurs in approximately 30 seconds. Our highly trained professionals take over from here.

The operator receiving the signal now has on her monitor the name and address of where the alarm originated as well as the type of alarm -- fire, burglar, temperature, etc. Special instructions also appear on the screen accompanied by emergency contact numbers and the persons who are to be notified of the alarm activation. Within seconds, the emergency notification number is automatically dialed. Security Central's operator has all the necessary information at her fingertips to relay to the dispatcher so help will be on its way to you in an instant.

With the rising concern over false alarms and the costly fines associated with them, your alarm dealer can assist you in deciding which signals should be verified before dispatch. With verification, Security Central operators contact the premise before dispatching the authorities to be certain an emergency condition actually exists. A passcode, selected by you, is required to cancel ANY alarm condition. Failure to give the correct code or no answer at the premise results in immediate dispatch. Of course, you can always call Security Central on a special 800 number provided to you by your alarm dealer to cancel dispatch, test your alarm or to obtain information regarding previous activations.

Other options for preventing false alarms include Two-Way Voice and Remote Video Monitoring. Both are great enhancements that can not only aid in preventing false dispatches but can provide you with additional protection, too. Your alarm dealer can provide you with more information regarding these services or you can visit these on Security Central's website.

Underwriters Laboratory and Factory Mutual Approval --
All Central Stations Are Not The Same

Many companies offer alarm monitoring. But very few meet the strict requirements demanded for approval by Underwriters Laboratory. This symbol guarantees you get the highest quality alarm response available in America. It means that your alarm system is monitored around the clock from our specially reinforced, fire resistant communication center. And it means you get the added protection of today's most advanced communication technology, backed up by two completely independent power supplies which ensure the prompt response to your alarm even in a total power failure.

The Underwriter's Laboratory and Factory Mutual approvals are some of the most stringent physical and operational acceptances to achieve. Security Central's central station is built around UL and FM's strict standards and is among the few central stations in the nation to achieve this. (MORE ->)

Each and every year Security Central is recertified by UL and FM to continue assured compliance with their respective guidelines. Just some of the items that contribute to our UL, FM and general operational guidelines are:

1) The facility is built to withstand 3 hours of direct fire from all sides, including the roof.

2) All access doors are steel fire rated and electronically controlled. Access of all personnel is limited and all entry and exit is logged.

3) Central station operators are monitored at all times by closed circuit cameras and video taped records are maintained.

4) Multiple path incoming toll-free and outgoing communications are backed further by dedicated local trunks. Communications systems within Security Central are redundant and are fully protected from electrical damage and outages.

5) Central station is backed by uninterruptible power systems and further backed up by redundant 45,000 watt natural gas generators. Each generator runs under load weekly to assure operability.

6) Security Central is utilizing the latest specialized industry specific software provided by Bradley Data Management, Inc. The automation is operated on DEC Pentium XL server attached to a high speed Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID).

The RAID stores all subscriber related data and activation history. Being fault tolerant, the RAID can operate even when there are disk or power failures. We can continue to operate in spite of the failure and repair the damage while the system continues to function.

Dual servers provide system level redundancy and multiple other platforms are provided in the event that both servers experience difficulties.

7) All information is backed up multiple times daily onto DAT tape. Regular and archival backups of all data are stored securely off site.

8) All voice communications made by our operators in response to all signals and day to day operations are logged.

9) Training programs are conducted on an on-going basis for all operators. Both trainer and operators are SIA certified.

10) Employees are screened before employment and at various intervals during employment to assure that they remain drug free and maintain a clean criminal record.
